RIP to my computer
I had been getting hints for months that my HDD was going out. I figured I would replace the whole machine after this or that event, and I would do it in a way that I would have both machines running at once for a couple of days, thus easing the transition. Then I got a warning that failure was imminent, and I initiated a last minute backup. Before the backup could complete, the drive failed completely.
I have a spare drive, so the machine is not dead now (I'm a level 12 cybernetic necromancer- it's been undead for years anyway) but I have a quandary. Should I pass this computer to my kids now, or move back into it for a month and then pass it down?
